Saving money on interior design ideas is important. Where to save money when decorating and where to spend money when decorating is key! One of the places you can save a ton of money is learning how to give any furniture a makeover.

I will show you my DIY furniture makeover using Mod Podge and fabric. I chose a fabric that looked like it was hand-painted onto the cabinet. This is a super easy and inexpensive DIY project that anyone can do!

The piece I originally purchased was the perfect size for our bedroom. However, I felt it was a bit bland and didn't match the French Country look I have going in our room. I noticed on the doors there was an inset and thought it'd be a beautiful place to put some fabric.

I chose an embroidered fabric. I wanted it to mimic the look as if this furniture had been hand-painted.

After cutting out the fabric, I starting applying the fabric. I applied the Mod Podge using a brush. I started at the top and did just a little bit of fabric at a time.

Keep adding the Mod Podge all the way down just a little bit at a time so that it keeps the fabric smooth.

Now that the fabric is on, it's time to coat the front of the fabric with the Mod Podge.

I replaced the knobs with these gorgeous ones I found at Hobby Lobby and they were the perfect finishing touch!

Just painting this furniture, adding fabric, and new doorknobs made this a beautiful custom piece that makes it look way more expensive than it actually was! Check out my video for more details on how I gave this piece a furniture makeover. Have a great day!

I do like the overall project, you did

a wonderful job. I decoupage often just never use fabric.

My question to you is, What happened to the original legs that was on the console. They were wooden and then replaced with some small metal ones?
