If you notice a woman spying a cardboard box near a trash bin, it's probably me :)) Be serious, I love crafting with cardboard, it's so inexpensive but the result can be amazing.

I would like to share my last-minute Christmas decorations idea that didn't cost me a penny because all materials were at hand.

If something is not clear, don't hesitate to watch a quick video which shows the process step by step. Deer pattern is in the description box on youtube (just click the video title above to get there).

You'll need

- brown cardboard box,

- white gouache or acrylic paint,

- craft/x-acto knife.

I'll show you how to make a Christmas tree and Christmas deer.

Step1. First, I make a Christmas tree. Mine is a big enough (40 cm tall).

I taped two sheets of copy paper together, folded the result sheet in half vertically and drew a Christmas tree side. Cut it out. Unfold and you'll get an absolutely symmetric Christmas tree pattern.

Step 2. Trace the pattern to cardboard twice.

Step 3. Cut the trees out with an x-acto knife.

Step 4. Measure how thick the cardboard is and cut a strip (as wide as the cardboard thickness) from the top of the tree to the middle. On the other tree cut the same strip from the middle to the bottom. In a video tutorial below I show how to make it easy.

Step 5. Take white paint and decorate your Christmas tree details.

Step 6. Slide the two cardboard sheets together along the strips and done!

Step 7. Now let's make a cardboard deer. I drew a deer pattern which you can find in the video description (video is below, just go to youtube and grab the pattern).

Steps are the same, trace the pattern to cardboard, cut out, paint to your liking and assemble a deer.

And you are done with a nice Christmas decorations that look like large gingerbread cookies.

I hope you like this idea. There are more DIY ideas on my Youtube channel, I'll be glad if you stop by. Thank you!
