Oil lamps are among the earliest forms of lighting with thousands of years of history. They are incredibly easy to make, safer than candles (will explain later!), and very economical: 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil can last over 2 hours!
These beautiful mason jar oil lamps are made with just oil, water, some special wicks, and botanical findings. You can even add some drops of essential oil for a fragrant experience!
First, gather some glass bottles and jars.
Fill with flowers or other treasures. Cover with water.
Pour some vegetable oil on top, till the oil form a layer of about 1/4" thick. Add the magic wick. To see where to find these special wicks, as well as lots of great tips, click here for all the details!
Now light it and enjoy the beautiful glow!
The botanicals will last 4-6 days, and the wick can last a long time.
