Nursery Alphabet Wall - A Baby Shower Activity

At the last few baby showers I’ve thrown, instead of entertaining guests with a goofy baby shower game, I’ve wanted to have guests work collaboratively on something for the mother-to-be to take home and have as a memento from her friends and family. Since it’s no secret that I love home decor, I’ve chosen to have guests create something to help decorate the baby’s nursery.
One of my favorite ways to fill up a blank wall in a kid’s space is to hang a big alphabet wall. Decorating individual letters of the alphabet to hang on the nursery wall has been a great way to have each guest add their personal touch to the baby’s room.

Supplies needed:

Large wood alphabet letters (I use THESE ones)

Plastic table clothMod Podge, matte finish

Glue

Scissors

Paint Pens

Decorative scrapbook paper

Acrylic paint & paint brushes

Ribbon

Stickers, buttons, and other decorative accessories

I always ask the guest of honor what the colors will be in her nursery and I choose all craft supplies based on those colors.
I typically cover my dining room table or a folding craft table with a plastic table cloth to protect the table from glue and paint. Then I set out all of the letters and decorating supplies and let guests work at their own pace while everyone is mingling and eating.

Before the day of the shower, I paint & decorate a handful of the letters to use as examples for guests (see the A, Z, i, n in the photo above). It doesn’t matter if all of the guests are creative or not, the mix of everyone’s letters together turns out unique and beautiful every time.
Be sure to have each guest sign her name on the back of her letter so the mommy-to-be will always know who made which letter!
If you’re looking for a great activity for a baby shower you’re throwing, I would highly recommend doing this! Every time I’ve done it, the guests and mommy-to-be have just raved about how awesome it turned out.

Does anyone know where to find so many styles of letters? I love them. I have 4 great granddaughters and am doing a play room for them when they are over. I would love to put each girl's name on each of the 4 walls with these letters...mix and match them.
