It should work fine as long as you seal it with a good quality sealer like Polycrylic after you have put all the washi tape on the table. I would put 2-3 coats of the sealer for best results.

Yes, you can seal it, use polycrylic, let dry between coats.
Hi Kellie: You sure can, just be sure you use a non-yellowing sealer.
Yes, the sealer will work great over washi tape. Decide on the finish you want such as matte or shiny and put 2-3 coats on and let dry in between each coat. You can make some really unique pieces doing this method.
