Mushroom Wall Hook | Airdry Clay Craft
Organizing is what keeps me busy this pandemic lockdown. I am fond DIYing little trinket and boxes . Lately I became obsessed with cute hooks.
I first planned to decorate this in the garden area but I have not finished my little 'plant space' so I used it as a hook instead.
To create this craft prepare these colors.
The key in achieving solid red color is to use generous amount of color.
Roll out your red clay like a mushroom head and add the white clay. Use your xacto knife or cutter to create a texture
I used my finger in pushing the head before I did the texture.
Then using the same techniques make two more smaller ones.
Now we will be making the body. You this step is optional if you want to use pure clay. I usually use foil in making my crafts for it to dry faster.
Then cover the foil with white clay and glue the mushroom heads. You can use water in gluing the parts but for added support you can use super glue.
Once they have dried completely,you can add some polka dot details to the mushrooms. I used the tip of xacto knife here. The dots did not looked perfect though but I'm happy with it :) I use this to hang our keys and face mask so they won't be lying around.
Once done I used my double sided wall strips for it stick on the wall. It's easy to find those and really handy.

i love this idea, am upcycling a set f drawers in a fairy theme for granddaughter and now can do the handles like this and some other little touches for her hedroom made from air clay. thank you for the inspiration and its so cheap and simple to make the clay at home , might become addicted to the whole hobby 😂
