I wanted to make a little something special to greet our students, staff and parents for my school's showcase as it's that time of year again! These are cedar fence posts that have been planed into jumbo sized pencils. Hope you'll find some inspiration!
I had leftover posts from a split cedar fence that we built. I sanded them quite a bit!
I had a friend cut the posts to 4 foot lengths. Then, plane the ends. This gets really messy. I recommend you do it outside.
I used painter's tape and defined each area. Painted with craft paint. Let dry over night. Then, removed the tape. I used the eraser from my pencil to dot each letter. This would be cute in a playroom or child's room. Enjoy!
