We took a $3.00 thrift store golf bag and cut out the plastic club divider, bottom and strap. Cleaned it up and cut an old rug to fit inside. My husband sewed each end of the carpet and a few places in the middle with heavy duty canvas thread and canvas needle he had from a long time ago. I guess you wouldn't have to line it with anything, but this bag had a crack in the plastic inside and we didn't want the cats to get hurt on it.
This is the bottom and strap we cut off and out. We couldn't find the plastic center piece that separated the clubs to take a picture of it, it was cut out awhile back before we decided to do the tutorial.
The rug is jute I think and pretty sturdy, so it held the round shape very well and didn't take much stitching.
Before adding the piece of carpet. I don't think the cats would have liked it as much without the carpet, even if it didn't have the crack in the plastic.

I painted on some animal spots, the best I could, lol.
I ended up just using Yellow Ochre and Burnt Umber.
Tied on ribbon and bells.
Finished with the carpet inserted.

Off we went to my daughters for the tunnel to be cat approved. They were curious at first, but took to it very well. Oggie and Emily love their new cat tunnel! The pouch on the outside holds their many cat toy's.

That is Super COOL! My husband has an old golf bag that looks just like that one....LOL He hasn't played in 25 years and has not wanted too either. He tried to sell his clubs and bag several times at yard sales but no one wants it.... Now I have an idea....HaHaHa!

Very cute minus the very dangerous ribbon! I know a kitty who ate it and had to have it surgically removed as it wound itself up inside down into the stomach. Not fun.

Thanks Denise, I'm so sad that this has happened to our feline friends and I'm very thankful for you and the others that made me aware of the danger. Hopefully other unknowing folks will become aware of too. I Appreciate you liking it!
