While visiting my parents I noticed some salvaged porch posts in their barn. I immediately had an upcycle idea for one of them. I could turn it into a coat rack!
I started out by cutting the post to size and cleaning it up..
then I went to Lowes and Hobby Lobby in search of the parts I needed to make this project.
I primed all of the pieces, including the post
Then I screwed the four shelf brackets to the bottom of the post to make it stand upright and screwed the finial to the top and the screwed the hooks on too.
Lastly, I painted the entire piece with two coats of white paint. There it is, an upcycled coat rack.
Enjoyed the project?
