10 Hardy, Fall-Blooming Plants for Your Garden

Fall is a time of year when nature truly puts on a magnificent display of colors. When you think of fall colors, it’s usually trees and their showy shades of yellows, oranges and reds that immediately come to mind. They certainly do seem to take center stage, but let’s not forget all those gorgeous fall flowers that bloom to life at this time of year, too.
Don’t be deceived by that crisp autumn breeze, fall is actually the perfect time for garden and lawn care. Try planting some of these hardy, fall-blooming plants in your garden and enjoy the color show to its fullest.
Goldenrod - As its name suggests, this flowering shrub, which can grow up to four feet tall, puts forth cheery, yellow flowers. This is a tough plant which can handle summer heat and thrive well into the fall. Also, there’s no need to fear that it causes seasonal allergies: this is a myth
Aster is a beautiful flower that comes in a variety of shades, including blue, pink, purple and white. Perhaps the best thing about them is that they attract butterflies, so you can enjoy them for a bit more before they flutter away for the winter.
Helenium - These flowers will remind you of daisies, but come in seasonal colors of red, orange and yellow. These plants are tough and easy to grow, and so are great for novice gardeners. They can reach heights of five feet and thrive in full sun.

So glad to hear another voice in favor of goldenrod, and I don't know why more people don't plant asters.
