This is our coffee table, that use to be part of a display from a department store I use to work at. We have had it for over 13 yrs and I have always wanted to redo it but never had the time.
This is the inspiration I used for my coffee table Keaton coffee table from Potterybarn. I love the country shabby chic look of it.
I used a heat gun with a paint scraper to remove most of the old paint, then I used Circa 1850 paint remover to remove the remaining paint. I have redone furniture this way before and it works best for me. I brush it on, let it sit for a bit and doing only small sections at a time. I used fine steele wool and a old dry cloth to remove the paint.
I used course, then med and then fine sand paper to smooth down the wood after all of the paint had been removed and it was dry. Used a tack cloth to remove any of the dust particles left on the wood.
I used Minwax Polyshades in black for the legs and base. I used Olympic Stain in Oxford Brown for the top (I had the stain already) I left it outside for 2 weeks to cure since I used the Olympic stain.
I'm so happy with the results and liked it so much I paint a wooden step stool that we had in the same colours.

Very nice. I would have 25 tables because I can’t decide which one I like the best. Your Dixie Belle drop cloth is just so pretty.
