I was longing to create an interesting display over my sofa once I repainted my family room. After several weeks of selecting pieces I already had, updating thrift store frames, and creating a new piece or two, I was ready to get going!
I wanted to make sure I could add a few more pieces as time and creativity permitted, so I centered the collection over the sofa. I hung the two largest pictures first and then filled around the edges with the smaller works.
I used a mixture of family photos, maps of places near and dear, two treasured paintings, and a couple of simple DIYs.
Small burlap canvas with a stenciled initial -- 5 second DIY!
The large family photo is the only frame I paid full price for.
I like having a couple of unframed pieces, too.
This was an easy Watercolor Initial DIY. I added black craft paint to the frame so it worked better with the other frames.
