DIY Pallet Wood Vertical Blinds
Easy, stylish, budget-friendly vertical blinds made from free pallet wood!
This truly is an easy project and while it looks like a big pile of weird stuff, it's mostly about assembly. Get yourself these items (listed below) and some longer pallet wood pieces and bingo, good to go.
Start by drilling holes in the tops of the pallet boards. Loop through a binder ring and the swivel key tag hardware portion (save the key tag for another crafty project).
You can read all about this funky project and oh so much more over on my blog, Flipping the Flip!
Connect the pallet pieces using copper wire. I drilled 1/8" holes on the edges, 1/4" in, in three connection points: center, one foot from the top edge, one foot up from the bottom.
Once you've got all that done, time to assemble the hardware parts and attach them where you're hanging the blinds. Remember, these will be on the heavier side, so account for that.
Lastly, string your fancy schmancy new pallet wood blinds onto the conduit curtain rod, tighten up that split ring hangar and you're all set! Super easy, super fast and now you've got some privacy!
Here they are all closed up. True, they aren't complete privacy but with a fun look like that, why worry?!
And here they are all opened up. What a great way to add texture to a room. These would be great outdoors too!

If you like the sound of wooden wind 'chimes', this same idea could be applied to make a small patio privacy wall outdoors.
