Reclaimed Wood Sewing Machine Table

This was a fairly easy project, with beautiful results!! I was fortunate enough to find this "Domestic", cast iron sewing machine base at a local thrift store this past weekend, and here's what I did with it!
I used two reclaimed oak boards, that I found a while back at a local lumber salvage store, measured, and cut them down to the right size.

Then, I glued them together in the center, letting it dry overnight, and added some braces across the bottom to help stabilize the top.

I attached it to the base with four screws around the edges, sanded it down, stained the top with only one coat of General Finishes Java Gel stain, added a few stencils to the corners of the top, and sealed it with two coats of General Finishes Polyacrylic.
I am in love with that wood grain!
