Replacing/Updating Fluorescent Ceiling Box Lights With Ceiling Molding

As is typical in a lot of houses built in the 70s and 80s, our kitchen had a large fluorescent light box on the ceiling. After removing the box and replacing the lights with LED recessed fixtures and a couple chandeliers I was facing the problem of the drywall patch not completely matching the texture of the ceiling.
To solve this problem I used chair rail molding to create a "faux trey ceiling" and completely mask the patch. I couldn't be happier with the outcome of this update!

Adding molding to the ceiling masks the drywall patch and adds architectural interest.

Love your solution! I will probably use this one on mine. It's by far the best one I've seen, and as it's over a round kitchen table, it's perfect. Where did you find the light fixture?
