Forgot to Plant Those Spring Bulbs? It's Not Too Late!

But you better not delay! If you have a bunch of bulbs that you never got around to planting in the ground, you can still try a forcing method. Here's how...
Tulips and Daffodils require a min of 12 weeks for a rooting period. Simply place them in a pot with at least 2 inch's of soil below them. Cover with soil, water in and place in a cold, dark garage or cellar.
After the cold period is over, move the containers to a warm sunny area. They will respond to the warmer temperatures and begin to push up. This is a good time to add primrose or pansies to make these gorgeous planters come alive!
Your bulbs will bloom in 2-4 weeks after the warming period starts. For more tips on how to use this method in other ways to suit your climate and to turn these into Easter Containers, click through the link below.

New question the coffee grounds I was saving in an open container for plants mildewed can I still use them, or throw away and start over?

@Lynne Yes. I would not use them for seed starting, but most uses should be fine. Coffee grounds are slightly acidic. I put mine in the garden for beets. Would mix them with potting soil, not just coffee grounds, for containers.

Thanks so much, I have a lot to learn. I won't use them until I need them on established plants. I hadn't planned on using them without soil. Thanks again. Lynne
