Our Cabin Inspired Christmas Tree

This is the first year that we ditched most of our usual ornaments and made our own to add a personal touch with a lodge feel. I have always dreamed of spending Christmas in a log cabin surrounded by snow, so I guess you could say that’s what I was inspired by this year. A lot of our decorations were actually made from materials left over from our recent wedding.
Our Cabin Inspired Christmas tree with DIY ornaments and garland.
These DIY wood slice ornaments were super easy to make and are my favorite. I used my printer to transfer the graphics onto the slices and hung them up using eye hooks, twine and ribbon.

I actually used some burlap runners leftover from our wedding reception to make some burlap and ribbon tree garland.
We drew on some chalkboard wooden tags and hung those up with twine. They were originally going to be used to display table numbers at our wedding reception.
I also made some clothespin snowflakes from leftover clothespins we used to hold vintage postcards as our wedding guestbook.
Love how easy and pretty these pinecone ornaments turned out.
The wood slice ornaments are my favorite!
Simple scrabble ornament because we love scrabble, words with friends and bananagrams!

I love it. I had planned on doing a similar tree but I just ran out of time to make the ornaments. Everything boxed up for next year though.

This is just as beautiful as the thoughts and memories behind it :)
