How to Clean Carpet & Upholstery with a Great Stain Remover

My Go-To Stain Remover for carpet and upholstery is…laundry detergent. Check out my blog for the steps to this SUPER EASY and QUICK clean up for stains and spills on carpet, slipcovers, upholstery, etc...
Laundry detergent is the first thing I grab if there's a spill or stain on my carpet or upholstery.
Before...
After...
You don't need much to clean your carpet…just about the size of a quarter.
You must rub the cloth to make the detergent "sudsy." You don't want the color of the detergent to get on your carpet or upholstery.
Simply rub and clean!

I have an immune disorder and can't breath with ordinary scented detergent. Have you tried tide free or some other unscented detergent?

BTW before we had liquid detergents my mom would use an eggbeater, granular tide, and just enough diluted vinegar to whip up " dried" suds to wash out carpets. Thanks for the memories.

I may try Ride Free on both with just a two or so of vinegar.

What’s the best thing to use to get pet Urine out of a house full of carpet? I have a carpet cleaning machine so what can I mix or use to get the smell out? Heard soap is what makes your carpet pack down when step on it so I don’t want that.

Only problem I see is, there was no rinsing involved. Without rinsing it will only attract dirt when walked on that area. Get yourself a small cleaning machine and rinse your area with plain water after using this method, which I am going to try and see if some of the "puppy" stains I have will go away. One of the hardest things to remove!

Carpets really bring beauty and glamor to real estate when cleaned properly. But when people have a busy schedule, they need the help of professionals with extensive experience in steam cleaning jobs. Personally, I've always wondered how to clean carpet with baking soda . However, I would recommend steam cleaning your carpets in your area as it is a very safe process. There are different ways to clean your carpet. To maintain quality, the carpet should be vacuumed regularly to remove dirt, dust, etc., then shampoo the carpet and leave it on for a while to root out germs, bacteria, dust, allergens, etc. that accumulate deep inside carpet.
