Repurposing in the Garden

Barb Rosen
by Barb Rosen
Big gardening ideas and a small budget helped me get creative in using repurposed items to garden and accent my plantings. Using what I already had or picked up cheaply at yard sales has saved me money and made my garden space unique too!

rock and junk drawer items turned into a garden accent
fence piece upcycled as trellis, step ladder supports a birdhouse and planter
nasturtiums and tomato plant in a planted galvanized trashcan with paint stick marker
old barrel topped with a pottery dish becomes a birdbath
old metal step ladder with a clay saucer and a cast iron bird equals a 5 minute birdbath
3 tiered hanging veggie holder shows off houseplants on summer vacation
My version of raised beds ~ galvanized trash can garden (holes drilled in the bottoms)
cat cd holder repurposed as a garden accent with bleeding hearts
old pot and pedestal become a bird water source

@Terri J It's a date! Let's get together when I'm out of school - how far away are you from (North) Wilmington, Delaware?
