A sentimental touch of 'cheer' for the tree 😉

I've been secretly saving the wire tops, or muselet from champagne bottles hoping to 'do something' with them, and finally came up with an idea. Here are a couple of ornaments, two spare hooks, and the tops of two champagne bottles from the past year. The only additional material was hot glue.

I drilled a 1/16" hole in the "cap" portion of the muselet.

I then closed up the side of my New Year's Eve project. For the other I still had the cork, so I decided to trim it down and include it.

I took the spare hooks and bent them so they couldn't pull through. Here's a before and after in the same shot.

I threaded the 'hook' thru the hole in the muselet cap.

Now the muselet hangs freely.

I took a small gold ornament on-hand for the New Year's Eve muselet (Yellow is my gal's fave color - so it's close, right?) and placed it against the muselet wire. I attached the two with hot glue. The second ornament you're about to see: I trimmed the cork down, placed it in 'the cage' and then glued the wire to the ornament.

Here are the two ornaments suspended from my left hand while I take the picture. I wrote "NYE 2021" on the gold one, it's from a very special night about eleven months ago 🧡🧡

Here are the ornaments hanging on a tree. I am very sentimental about ornaments. I have some nearly 80 years old that belonged to my parents. I hope the recipients appreciate the thought.

I do some photography work on the side. This is the daughter a friend. We shot this early one Sunday morning a few days before she graduated with her bachelor's degree. I hope she finds the muselet ornament a nice reminder 😉.
