I make sachets with essential oils and rice for the closet. I make a spray with essential oils and vodka for furniture, carpets. Mix essential oils and baking soda for refreshing carpets. I use fabric softener sheets under the seats in the car. I'll have to try the essential oil on fake plants, the newspaper in the fridge. Great share.

Wouldn't the vodka mess up the furniture fabric? I have dogs and sometimes they try to lick the furniture, and I really don't need a drunk husky or toy Australian shepherd running around, so I try to keep them covered, but they sometimes like to make a puffy bed with the blanket or towels which is what I used to cover my furniture.

The vodka is just a carrier for the essential oil. It evaporates leaving the scent. I use it in rugs, furniture, bed linens and most of all clothing I sell on Ebay.
